Freedom of the Mind
Consistency Is the Key
“ To winning Life’s Battles”
Sometimes life happens, we get distracted and allow Satan to pull the wool over our eyes. We get stuck in this endless cycle of routines, to do lists, and become overwhelmed by pressures and stress of this world. Satan brings thoughts into our minds that we can do our own thing and we don’t have time for Jesus.
Until one day you wake up and realize that your priorities are not there. You noticed that you’ve went through life’s motions and yet somethings missing. We can do nothing without Jesus. He’s the reason we have breath in our lungs; without him I find no inspiration or Hope. It’s as if the glow of joy in your heart was dimmed, the oil of your anointing ran dry, and you no longer feel the connection between the holy spirit and Gods small still voice seems a thousand miles away.
Have you ever wondered Why this has happened or why the path you’re on seems as though your relationship with Christ is a Rollercoaster ride? One day your up and can be more than a conqueror. The next day you are so far down that it seems impossible to make the climb and be victorious. I have asked this question many times and am finding Gods truths through personal experience.
In 2020 prior to these last two years. I was getting up every day, reading the word, worshipping while I cook, praying while my little one plays in the outdoors, and saying my nightly prayer before bed. Life was great! I was writing, then when God spoke a word I’d do a video, and I was maintaining my Facebook page Live life love freedom. But isn’t it just like the devil to lie in wait to devour something good that God is trying to birth. Anything that makes us a threat to his kingdom; he is ready to put a stop to it.
Then suddenly something happens. Not long after I launched this Blog, I found myself expecting again summer of 2020. The next year in 2021 my son Josiah was born. I prayed for him, and God answered speedily. So, I quickly found myself a busy mother of 2. It just became harder and harder to juggle my daily routine with Christ. I’d become so frustrated. I would get up ready to read and meditate. Then suddenly the cries of my sweet babe I’d hear and then called away I ran rushing to sooth my sweet baby. Since my routine never went as expected I lost hope and the courage to work around everything. I just believed the lies of the enemy. I couldn’t do it right or I just didn’t have the time like before.
Then like me you excuse it as my schedule changed, the kids’ naps are different or maybe no nap at all or I’m just too exhausted to pray before bed. As you go along day by day. You realize your struggling more than usual, you’re on edge and screaming at the kids. You feel depressed, you begin to worry more and pray less. Instead of peace you feel turmoil.
Then I found myself in a very dry season not enough time in the day, the kids are fussy, and my to do list keeps getting longer. So, I rush to get to the next task done speedily. I then fell prey to the enemy and skipped my one-on-one time with Jesus. That wasn’t so bad. Then it gets easier to do it again and again. Then eventually you realize that the enemy was a sly fox. Inching in your life little by little so you don’t notice. It seemed as if the rug had been jerked out from beneath my feet.
I had been given over to worry more than prayer, confusion with circumstances, and complete turmoil on the battlefield of my mind. Where was my Faith and trust in God? Instead of drawing closer to the Father sometimes in the fight we distance ourselves. Out of anger in our circumstances we withdraw from the one thing that can strengthen us during times of weakness. God’s word. We find ourselves in turmoil instead of laying our needs at the feet of Jesus. The enemy definitely specializes in derailing us in order to shut us up from the calling that God has on our lives.
This has been my personal experience. It’s so crazy how the enemy is so smooth. You don’t realize it at first. Until one day you wonder why you’re walking in fear, having mind battles, and just hoping you make it through the day.
Why are we not stable in our walk with God? I believe that sometimes as human beings we fail to remain consistent in battle. We fail to put on the Whole Armor of God. I realized how important that our Armor is; Without it we sink like an orange without its covering. Or like the ball on top of a toilet paper roll. When we forget to tighten the belt of truth around our waist, we are unstable and not steady in Battle. Not able to withstand the fight. Forgetting to use our sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.
Friends it’s all happened to us! But it just puts us trying to get back to where we were to start with. Can you imagine where you would be if you hadn’t gotten distracted? How much farther ahead you would be and how much more Spiritually Mature you would be. All things happen for a reason. In Philippians 1:6 the bible puts it this way “I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will (continue to) perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus (the time of his return). We must not work to perfect the plan ourselves but knowing He that is perfect will perfect the plan. We must only be obedient and serve with a sincere heart.
But thank God that in Hebrew 4:15-16 The message version says “We don’t have a high priest who is out of touch with reality. He’s been through weaknesses and testing, experienced it all-all but the sin. So, let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.” I’m so thankful for a Savior that has walked in flesh and human skin. He understands our struggles and weaknesses. Let’s give our weaknesses to him today.
I know that he will use our experiences so we can help another. So don’t despise the experience, the shortcomings or failure. Through it we are strengthened, wisdom is added, and then we are equipped to help someone else where we have been.
Let us learn to Actively keep our eyes open and focused on Jesus. So, when the attack comes, we are able to Stand Strong and Pass the test. Waking early to dress ourselves for battle and doing all we can to stand and be built upon the Rock.
I pray this piece and personal experience blesses and encourages you today!
