Father’s Day is right around the corner. How are you honoring the dad, or man of honor in your life. Women may wear many hats, and multitask in life, but Father’s make great sacrifices for their families every day. I love the saying that a father’s love is without end. That’s so true of our heavenly Father! Natural Father’s do want the best for their children, and families and love the best way that they can.

By sacrifices I mean they work hard every day. Making the choice for us moms often to stay home and be with our babies while they sacrifice time for money. Making sure that everyone has a warm bed, nice clothes, running water, food on the table, and even the extras in life like toys etc. The nice homes we live in to the nice cars we drive. Never think those things didn’t come without some hard work, sweat, and often tears.

Depending on their career type, fathers often break their bodies down just to provide. From my personal experience my dad was a coal miner. Breaking his body down going underground, breathing dust that’s not good for the lungs, and working physically hard. To my husband being a mechanic and wearing out his shoulder physically working on big rigs.

I remember growing up my dad was always working hard to provide. So, we didn’t see him much. By we I mean my mom and I; since I’m an only child. He always made the joke he only got weekend visitation. He was always between day shift, or second shift in the mines. It meant something to provide but he was so happy with the simple things in life. He loved with his heart even if he didn’t always know the right actions. His heart was there and in it.

If someone’s actions don’t always match their words. Take into consideration where your dad has traveled, and the scars he may carry. It’s often not fair to us, but in life we get scars. I know in his childhood his parents didn’t make the time to show him how to love. Back then it was getting caught up in the hustle and bustle of farm life. Nowadays it can be any type of job, or social media that can steal your time. That’s why as parents, moms, and fathers we must be intentional with our time. We must make time for our children to show them how to love as well. What is one of the traditions that you wouldn’t want to slip by in your home?

Call me old-fashioned but for me and my family I don’t want family dinners to become a thing of the past. In such a fast-paced world it can be easy to eat dinner on the run, or let the kids watch cartoons in the living area, or you get distracted on your phone at dinner time. Whatever the case may be. I feel like dinner time should be a time to briefly disconnect with the world and re-connect with family about their day.

This is a great time for kids to discuss things with their parents about school or other various things. A great opportunity for mothers and fathers to share the details of their day with one another. After a busy day, it gives everyone an opportunity to connect, share, love, and laugh. one day you’ll thank yourself, holding the memories dear, and the chatty dinners with children and family. This is one of the things I miss so terribly since my grandmother and grandfather went to be with Jesus. My Mamaw was always cooking a holiday dinner. It would be the works, three to four sides, and dessert was a must. She’d always invite family and friends near and far. I know that time spent cooking large dinners is so worth it, but then there comes the clean-up.

It usually takes half a morning to cook a 5-course meal. It’s exhausting when you’ve spent most of the morning in the kitchen to cook. Much less spend more time in the kitchen for the clean- up. So, my point is don’t sacrifice your holiday or even Father’s Day dinner. If you have busy weekend plans and would rather chill after church or Sunday morning activities. Not to mention one meal for a family of four in a nice restaurant these days costs around 100 dollars for one meal and even more for larger families. Sometimes with kids and larger families it isn’t in the budget due to the rise of inflation.

How to spend more time with family, and less time

in the kitchen

Here’s a personal story of this past year’s thanksgiving meal. My mom came up to help cook and celebrate with the kids. I remember we started around 9am or 10am in the morning to prepare a simple thanksgiving meal for late lunch or dinner. I wasn’t sure how long it would take but I knew it shouldn’t take long. Turkey’s always take a few hours sometimes the regular 4-5 hours to bake. But little did I know that my oven was having difficulty heating, and it would take around 8 hours to bake the turkey. This meal became more complex than I would have liked considering I picked out simple sides.

We had a few sides like green beans with bacon in a crock pot, sweet potatoes with melted marshmallows, a turkey, and a simple dessert. I can’t remember what we had for dessert. I remember the difficulty of cooking this 3-4 course meal. The kids were getting hungry, it was taking longer than expected, and we had to figure out lunch since the turkey would not be done in time. So, don’t let longer times in the kitchen and unexpected events keep you from enjoying the holiday. So, again how are you honoring that father in your life this Father’s Day?

Remember how I told you they are always working so physically hard? Ok. So why not nourish them with a mouth-watering steak this year. Leaving “Goshen” A Place of Limitation

What season are you in? God has been speaking a message and revelation of Goshen into my spirit lately.

This is about leaving the place that limits you, not getting comfortable, and transitioning into the next

that God has for you. Do you find yourself in a place of comfort, abundance, and plenty? Yet you still

don’t quite feel that you are fulfilled or living out your purposeful life; that God has intended for you.

Sometimes leaving a place of comfort is hard. After all we are comfortable there, we are familiar with

people, places, and things. It’s so good that we can’t imagine how much better the Promise Land could

be which is where God is wantingto take us. But we can’t stay comfortable! Often God allows certain

situations to take place in our life to propel us into our Next. Such as an area of pain or limitation. We

then are forced to leave it behind, trust God in the wilderness, and by faith step into the Promise land or

that Next that God is nudging us to do. Just like the story of Goshen in the book of Genesis extending to

Exodus.

Leaving “Goshen“ A Place of Limitation

God just began to drop this into my spirit as a personal message but also for the seasons of life that

others may be in. If you are in a season where you’ve experienced physical pain, disappointment,

emotional pain, spiritual pain, or spiritual oppression, or feeling limited this word is for you. The Lord

clearly said to me “You are leaving Goshen” you are leaving the point of your pain. I prophesy this over

you today that you are leaving the land of your pain, and great suffering. Leaving the land of limitation

and walking into that next that God has for you today! Do it scared and afraid as Joyce Myer would say.

Move Into Your Next

Don’t stay stuck just because it’s comfortable. I’m talking to myself here to y’all. Adventure is scary! But if

we stay where we have always been how can we experience the next chapter, season, mission or

assignment that God has for us. God knows the plan he has for each of us. As it says in Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans

to give you hope and a future.” If we stay stuck just because it’s what we know. We will allow ourselves to

be comfortable yet miserable. If we aren’t following God’s plan for our life, we will ultimately be miserable

and off course.

So, now I invite you to take a deeper dive into the story of Goshen. How it might relate to your life and

what God is doing in yours. God is our hiding place, and Goshen in the Hebrew means to draw near.

Goshen was also a physical location in the bible. To give you deeper perspective; Goshen was located near

Northern Egypt, east of the lower Nile in the mountains of Juda. It boarded the Promise Land. This is

where Israel lived from the time of Joseph to Moses. They were tucked away in the mountains since the

shepherds were detestable to the Egyptians. It was a separated area that was still apart of Egypt. Goshen

was good but remember it was still located in Egypt.

For Joseph Goshen was the place of his pain. Joseph had been sold into slavery by his brothers, he was

thrown into prison by accusations of Pharoh’s wife and forgotten by the cup bearer. Oh, but God. God

turned it all around for Joseph and his family. God gave Joseph favor in the site of Pharoah. In Genesis

41:41 Pharoah put Joseph in charge of all the land of Egypt. Joseph stored up all the grain in the seven

years of fat times. In the seven lean years Joseph was a supplier of food for many including his brothers,

and family. Joseph states in Genesis 41:52- for “God has caused me to be fruitful and very successful in

the land of my suffering.” God can take the very place of your pain that broke you and use it for his

purposes. It may take a healing journey, but he will use that pain for the passion of His purpose!

Goshen was a place of safety, security, plenty, and provision. A place of abundance; a place where Gods

people could prosper during crisis. No matter what’s taking place in the world through God’s kingdom

you can prosper. Despite the famine Joseph was able to feed not only his family but those also in Egypt.

They sold land, and livestock for food. God allowed his people to live and multiply, separately and

securely in the land of Goshen. Genesis 46:28-34.

Even though they were separated from Egypt they grew and multiplied greatly so much that they started

to become a threat to Pharoah. Even though things were so good in Goshen it became a place of

limitation. They became capped off. In Exodus chapter 1 the king began to oppress them and put them

under hard labor. They were multiplying so greatly that the king gave orders for all the male children of

the Israelites to be killed. As the Israelite women gave birth the midwives were to kill the male babies.

There comes a time that if we are no longer able to grow there must be separation for the Next.

There are some situations that God allows to take place to make us uncomfortable or in crisis to move

into our calling and align with God’s will. When one season is up, and our provision dries up we are

moved to transition into our next. Sometimes Goshen can represent an area of compromise. Not being

where God exactly wants us to be. We can say yes to good things but if it’s not our purpose and what we

should be doing. It keeps us and delays us from the true promise land. Goshen was a good part of Egypt,

but it was not the Promise Land! Keep moving, don’t get comfortable or stuck! Many wise people are

willing to leave the spiritual Goshen meaning the place of spiritual oppression or limitation. In order that

they would follow the Lord to a better place. Be led by His Spirit and follow it just like the ark of the

covenant. When one door closes another opens.

When one chapter ends there’s a separation, and another chapter begins. For the Israelites to see their

promised land they had to separate themselves from Goshen. Even though it was a place of abundance,

safety, and prosperity. Leaving pushed them to draw closer to God and trust him in the wilderness. They

had to push past their pain and discomfort to get into the wilderness. They were able to take the Goshen

Blessing with them into the wilderness, and God made provision for them. They

received freedom, deliverance, and spiritual blessing. Sometimes, we can’t see the greater good of where

God is taking us, but his perspective is much broader than ours. Don’t look at what you’re leaving but

press forward to what’s ahead. There’s Greater that awaits you in the promised land. We are

commissioned for Greater!

Wealth, Fame, and Faith

Don’t Be Enticed by Flashy Lights, the Lifestyle of the rich and famous. The devil will temp in every way with glitz and glam. He’ll present to you a beautiful picture of how you can have more. But is that God’s plan? You might have a back up plan but what if God’s plan is so much better. His ways are higher than our ways. Just because we don’t understand it or know all the details doesn’t mean it won’t be better!

Money is the solution to many problems. It only becomes a problem when we are given over to the love of money. Just as it describes in 1st Timothy 6:9-10 “Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs”. I’m in no way against wealth. God wants his people blessed. Your motives must be right, and the blessing will follow. You must ask is it the right opportunity and are there strings attached?

We all want more in life, more income, more time, financial freedom, freedom in our minds, and more time with loved ones. Jesus is the source of all these things. Lately I’ve found myself pondering past opportunities, and what the present opportunities are for more streams of income. I’ve felt the desire to do more for the Kingdom of God, and to have more income to fund the Kingdom. To steward well and send my money on assignment. It says in Romans 8:27 “And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because the Spirit intercedes before God on behalf of God’s people in accordance with God’s will. God knows our hearts best, and he knows the best plan. He knows and holds our destiny.

So, God knows I’m searching for more, and he wants to stir us in the right direction. As I read a devo from my bible app yesterday. God began to line up all the scriptures for me. The best financial advice, the warning of wealth, and the how serving God can bring abundant blessings. I’ve read the scripture in Romans 8:8 the one that says to owe no man nothing. I’ve heard Kenneth and Gloria Copeland quote a lot in their personal testimonies. But then this devo pointed out another one with so much wisdom. Proverbs 22:7 “The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is a slave of the lender”. Long story short it talked about with those in the bible owed debts that they have to serve as a slave for their debtor. Or even end up in prison for their debts. Today’s punishment might not be a brick-and-mortar punishment for debt. But it talked about how we become enslaved by plastic speaking of our credit cards. This was so good.

I’d never quite seen it this way before. Plus, that the punishment wasn’t physical but mental. We become stressed, depressed, and bogged down mentally. It was definitely an eye opener for how we can be enslaved by debt. I’ve seen it before in my own finances how all your money can go to creditors plus interest with little to none left over. But God has a better way and that’s the kingdom way. My pastor has preached for years on how giving is God’s economy, and we can’t out give Him. Giving in this devo said it breaks the enslavement that money can have over us. Which I’m a firm believer in. It might have been rough at the start but once I became faithful in my giving things began to move. Cards got paid off, and money increased. Thank you, Jesus, for the blessing.

Then after that I looked up some of the scriptures and God directed me to Proverbs 23: 4 “Do not weary yourself with the overwhelming desire to gain wealth; cease from your own understanding of it. “Which tells me we may not have the wisdom or the answers but God does. The blessing for wealth comes from God alone the creator of all things. But in Proverbs 28:20 says it this way “Committed and persistent work pays off. Get rich quick schemes are rip offs.” MSG. The best wealth doesn’t happen overnight. But if we stay committed, and persistent in the calling that God has on our life he will bless it. If we step out in faith not knowing all the steps God will direct. He has a special purpose for us all. I feel God continuing to reel me in as I ponder the opportunities. If he changed the course of our direction, it’s only for our protection. As RTK would put it. We may not know or understand the Why but its for our best interest.

As I go back and forth in my mind and my heart plays tug of war with this decision. God reminded me that Riches can disappear in the blink of an eye Proverbs 23:5. I don’t want to be like the one that is tempted with all the glitz and glam. Yet falling into temptation, traps, destruction, and finding that I’m far from my faith. That I didn’t stop from all the spinning strobe lights, the music, and mixed wine to talk to Jesus. To remember that all we have is because of him. And ultimately falling short of a relationship with a man named Jesus.

In Proverbs 23:17 God reminds “Do not envy sinners who live Godless lives and have no hope in salvation, but continue to live in the reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord day by day.” Most people are searching to fill a void. They often choose to do so with glitz, glam, money, drinks, and music. Even if they have all the money in the world at the end of the day if they have no relationship with the father, they still haven’t filled that void. Parties, and mixed wine won’t fill the void with happiness. Only Jesus can. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? As Jesus asks in the bible.

Through the interpretation of the Holy Spirit, he began to speak “Many seek glamorous lifestyles and are tempted by flashy platforms, and fame. But they have strayed from the road of righteousness. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?” I felt this strongly in the spirit. Not that he doesn’t want us blessed. Rather than chasing the idol of what money can do for us. Chase the face of the creator of it! The blessing will follow. In Matt 6:33 KJV “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.” Seek him first, and he will bless whatever the hand touches. He is the giver of every idea that brings wealth. And lastly Proverbs 23: 13 “Apply your heart to discipline, and your ears to words of knowledge.”

Also, I was meditating on what it means to stray from the path of righteousness. Not just sinning and fallen from the righteous path. But being in the will of God, and not going by the way of the flesh. Sometimes the flesh will lead us to sin and destruction which isn’t the will of God for our lives. But knowing like David that God will never lead us into sin or inequity. To be sensitive of the Holy Spirits guidance, and to go in the will of the father. To heed the warnings of direction and choose with wisdom the will of God. Not my will but thy will be done. Make sure that it’s the calling that God is leading you in, and not just something that is convenient. He has the better plan! He desires to give us a hope and a future. Summed up from Jeremiah 29:11.

Some areas are not our calling and were meant to be distractions of the enemy. To steal our piece and derail our destiny. Don’t be enticed with the shiny things, the glitz and glamour. But remain steadfast in the faith. Trusting Gods plan for our futures.

I felt that this should definitely be shared in some way. It has been the things God has laid on my heart and has been speaking about. I felt it best to write it in this post. I pray these words bless your heart today. Be encouraged in all circumstances God is at work. We may not see it, but He is always at work behind the scenes. Press into to all he has for you! He will guide and complete the work he’s began in you. Blessings!

4 Keys to Being The Graceful Momma

When life gets messy breath and receive God’s grace.

`Haven’t we all been there before? Feeling overwhelmed, short on time, and trying so hard to be that

graceful Momma. I know there have been times when I failed miserably, allowed myself to lose all self –

control, and my peace in the process. I can recall feeling so disappointed in myself from acting like

a screaming lion that almost bit their heads off to a cussing sailor! Come on y’all Momma’s out there! I

know you know what I’m talking about. This is where my 4 keys to begin a graceful momma come in.

Being a momma can be hard especially if we rely on our own strength.

Let’s be real! Being a mom is one of the most important jobs we will ever have, and it doesn’t always look

like that Hallmark picture in your head! You know the one where everything is so organized, nice clothes,

the perfect home, and happy toddlers. Even though being a Momma can be hard at times, and oh so

messy! It’s so worth the reward on their little faces. To see them smile, giggle, and give Mom lots of sweet

kisses. These are some of the best moments in our lives. God blessed us moms to be strengthened by his

word and to help shape the next generation. The impact starts at home. How special, and powerful is that.

My husband helped me to realize this not long ago. How God was fulfilling my dream that he had placed

on the inside of my heart. I always had a dream of being important and having the ability to impact

people by changing lives and leaving a mark in the world. Mommas this is your chance to shine! It

matters if you lose control, how you might treat your child, and how you raise them. It starts in our own

homes. I hope to encourage you through these 4 keys of wisdom for Being the Graceful Momma. This is

what my day looked like a few days ago.

As I went through my day on Thursday afternoon time quickly slipped away. I found myself rushing to

pull everything together in the last hour before leaving for my doctor’s appointment. Of course,

when you are short on time everything that can, will try to go wrong. I quickly became discouraged when

I eyed the overview of each room. The kitchen was a disaster! Toddlers are messy eaters, and the

cornflakes snack had found its way to the floor. Corn flakes scattered throughout the kitchen. The living

room lost its organization that never lasts long. The toys from the toy bin were scattered over the larger

off-white rug in my living area. The rooms looked like a tornado hit it. My daughter’s room is always the

one that looks completely trashed with toys like someone had a party.

In that moment you begin to feel as if you failed. Nothing ever stays organized, and I can never

understand why my home doesn’t look like it’s from HGTV lol. This is where grace comes in to rescue you.

It’s ok for things not to be perfect. It’s lived in, laughed in, and joy dwells. God see’s you Momma, and he

knows all the sacrifices you make! Don’t set the bar too high but serve with excellency of heart. As long

as your kids are clothed, and happy that’s all that matters. The schedule doesn’t have to be preschool

approved. We always try to fit so much into our schedules as busy momma’s. All the while trying to get

out the door I ended up doing a last minute clean up.

Did I forget to mention that I had to clean my daughter up from a poop accident. She starts playing or

watching too many cartoons on the phone, and suddenly going to the bathroom isn’t a priority. Toddlers

get distracted with all the excitement and well accidents do happen. Then I found myself changing my

son’s diaper, and applying butt paste to both. As we worked everything in to try and get out the door

soon.

In that moment it might not be glamorous, but I’ve come to realize that life is made up of a million little

moments. These are what matters most. It’s the process or the journey before getting to that large

moment. Don’t live jumping from one large steppingstone to another. It’s the smaller moments that bring

so much joy. If you’re always looking for the next big thing. You’ll miss the little things in front of you.

Next, I will share with you my keys to being that Graceful Momma!

A whole lot of Jesus!

Through personal experience I’ve found that it truly matters how you start your day, and how it ends. It

sets the stage for the entire day. I’ve found that its better with Jesus. Get up and purposely schedule time

with him. He’s waiting to hear from you! He cares about the smallest detail. That’s what I have come to

learn. Let Jesus take the wheel! So, to speak. Starve the flesh and feed the spirit! If you never feed the

spirit man, he won’t be strong enough to prevail. If you find like me, most of the time one reading a day

isn’t enough, to get through the day. I find I start becoming spiritually weak if I don’t feed on that word a

few more times throughout my day. Read a quick devo at lunch, and maybe hold a quick bible study with

your kids and family to close out the day! Ending with a goodnight prayer, and gratitude for the day.

2. Self Control

I’ve learned to take a step back, if you do lose all self-control, until you are calm before discipling or

making decisions. Words are powerful, and they can’t be removed from the mind once recorded. Without

self-control there is no patience. 2nd Peter 1:6 NLT says it this way ” And knowledge with self-control, and

self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness.” The word is my medicine! It

produces the fruit of the spirit. Kindness, gentleness, Patience, and self-control. You don’t want to see me

without my daily dose of Jesus. He’s, my strength. I wasn’t always this way but with His help change is

possible. In Proverbs 4:20-22 it says “My son attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let

them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that

find them and health to all their flesh.”

3. Patience

More times than not things go well when we have just a little more patience. Toddlers are slow moving at

times, and easily distracted. Trying to force a situation to happen faster or the way you want it doesn’t

always go well. Most times it ends in a tantrum. I have noticed that if I speak and ask something of my

children, they respond better than if I had screamed or yelled at them. I’d rather speak than to yell, and

produce fear in them, and have them in tears if I can help it; avoiding the tantrum, anger and guilt you’d

feel if you had handled it differently. I’ve been there and am still learning every day. James 1:3-4 “Let

patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect lacking nothing.”

4. Coffee, or a Monster

Sometimes it takes a whole lot of coffee, and Jesus to jump start the day! lol. Whatever gets you in that

happy state. Do it! I’ve found I’m more empowered throughout my day if I get up start my day with Jesus

and have a little me time. I’m so much more refreshed. Read your daily dose of Jesus while sipping on

your coffee or energy drink whichever suits your fancy. Remember you don’t want to be the Monster! Ha

Ha. Sometimes for me it’s a cup of Joe half calf or an all-natural energy stick that you mix in your water.

Then off to something that aides in self-care like an early exercise on the treadmill or exercise video to a

favorite book. Whatever might be your jam or routine that you can fit in for that morning. You will feel so

much better and more accomplished to care for your kids and conqueror the day.

You got this Mama! And don’t get upset if you don’t finish the routine. I’ve done this so many times. It’s

ok. Give yourself a pat on the back for what you did accomplish, and just find a way to incorporate the

rest with your kids or during nap time. We get so wrapped up in housework, chores, errands, and forget

how mind freeing a little self-care can be. I hope these points will help you discover the power of the

word, daily grace, self-care and becoming that graceful Mamma.

Why I Chose to Celebrate Fall-O-Ween over Halloween?

The timing of this post may seem a little off, but God is always on time! I never understood the history of Halloween until I researched a little further this year. I feel it’s something that God had laid on my heart to receive understanding and insight.

A little background on myself would be that I grew up celebrating Halloween like most kids do. My mom always took me trick or treating throughout the years. I always wanted to decorate heavily, but she never really did. My grandmother always taught us that it was the devil’s birthday or an evil holiday. She never decorated, but didn’t want to feel guilty about not giving the children candy. I never understood. As I got older my Mom took me to Halleluiah night at the local church. I watched all the Halloween movies like; Hocus Pocus, Halloween Town, Sabrina the teenage Witch, Practical Magic, and even The Craft! Not knowing the dark spiritual drawing and implication that it could have on my life. I was always so attracted to Halloween and never knew why? But I believe that the slightest seed of darkness can grow and draw us in, and have a impact on our life.

I never questioned it until this year. I wanted a more in depth understanding. I found a post that a friend had shared on Facebook where Jenny Weaver Warns of the Spiritual Dangers of Halloween. I had read a few other posts prior to that. I feel that God just kept lining them up to give me the understanding I was looking for.

History of Halloween’s Evil Origins

I also never knew that Halloween came about by the Celtics in Europe from a festival called Samhain. Halloween is also a celebration of the dead. In an attempt by Christian popes to replace the pagan holiday is how it became known as all souls day. A day where the living would pray for the souls of the dead saints. Eventually becoming know as All Hallows Eve, and then Halloween.

The origin of Halloween represents death and darkness. Halloween isn’t celebrated until dark falls. From October 31st to November 2nd is the widow when the the veil was the thinnest between the 2 worlds between the dead and the living. This time frame was thought to be when spirits could easily pass from the dead among the living. The early belief was that people would leave candy on their door step for the evil spirits opting for a treat rather than a trick from the evil spirit. Costumes came into play when they would dress up to ward off the evil spirits. There were also other various dark rituals such as animal sacrifice as well. This was where bats came into play also the bonfires attracted bugs, and the bats were tempted for a tasty meal.

Some may try to argue that the origin of the holiday has a religious background. Since the popes tried to re-invent something evil into a good holiday for substitute. I beg to differ. It’s very clear that Halloween and its origin is rooted in darkness. For example the druids or magicians wanted to please the deity’s with sacrifices and bonfires. Just like in the bible when it warns to stay away for sorcery, and fortune tellers.

Also research shows that every type of crime out there rises by 50 percent on this Halloween Day. This should definitely say that evil is at work on one of the most evil days of the year. I love what Jenny Weaver said something to the effect of ” we are going to celebrate Christ three hundred and sixty four days out of the year and then on this one day celebrate the Devil.” She also said that this is the one day you shouldn’t want your children participating in.

Closing the Door to Evil

I began to rethink my participation in this holiday, and what I might want for my children. The Lord then laid this scripture on my heart 2nd Corinthians 6:14 Amplified “For what partnership can righteousness have with lawlessness? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?” This was a powerful revelation from the Lord more clear than ever. I now understand why many Christians choose not to celebrate this holiday in their homes; Why they chose to close the door to evil; leaving no open door for the enemy or evil spirits to operate in their lives.

This is why I chose not to allow my children to participate in Halloween this year. My children are 18 months and the other is almost 4. I believe that we are responsible for their spirituality, and the traditions that we hold helps to shape their beliefs. I want to equip, and raise children of light having no fellowship with darkness. It is our responsibility to be led of the Holy Spirit in order to guide our children into what is right, and good. In the bible it says train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

Celebrating Jesus through Fall Harvest

This year instead of going trunk or treating or anything else. We chose Fall-O-Ween! At our church this fall we celebrated Are you Fall -O- Ween Jesus? We celebrated all things fall, and Jesus at the “In Christ I am conference.” We had wonderful games, treats, hayride, face paintings, food, and Jesus. We came back home from this conference so empowered. Make Jesus the center of it all. I felt so good about this decision, and no regrets. I didn’t feel like I had missed out on anything. I don’t believe there is a substitute for this holiday. There’s no way we can make something good out of something that originated from evil origins. So don’t feel guilty if you choose to not celebrate this day at all. After all many other religions find it ok to not even celebrate Christmas. So Why should I celebrate Halloween? Let’s celebrate Fall and harvest time instead. Falling into and following Jesus.

Living in The Unforced Rhythms of Grace

What would it be like to? Flow like the waves of the sea naturally unforced with the time and rhythm of Grace. The Lord has recently brought to light how Satan uses busy work to distract and devour our time. Busy doesn’t always mean productive. If we are not fully flowing in rhythm with God’s will and plan. Life will seem forced, and heavy. Your mind and spirit will be heavy laden. It will be a hinderance as to where God wants to take you, and what God wants to accomplish in your life. The flesh constantly battles the spirit. Our will verses God’s purpose. It will seem there isn’t enough time in the day to accomplish anything. It’s hard when you are trying to work against the natural flow of something. Like fighting against gravity or the waves of the sea. It’s easier to ride the wave. God recently gave me revelation of this.

God opened my natural and spiritual eye gates to this recently. I was seeing that the time I spent working on something that God had not purposed for my life. I was putting the time in, taking away from my family, while Satan stole my joy, peace, time, and devoured my finances. In that moment I did not realize this since my focus had drifted off Jesus. Did he bless it for a time? Yes. My business was blessed for a short period of time. My money came quick and dwindled fast. I was spending hours upon hours working from my phone. He recently showed me my screen time. It was astounding as to the time that was spent not being present. Surfing a virtual world and posting on social media. The amount of time spent I could have taken a flight to Africa. Or flown somewhere in 12 hours and returned within the next 12. The will of my flesh was costing me my creative talent, time spent with the father, and my God given purpose.

During this time my creative talents wasn’t being used. My meditation time with God was nonexistent. The busyness drowned out the small still voice of God. Therefore, I had entered into a creative dessert, and lack of inspiration. My talent seemed like a dry well that wasn’t flowing. This is how I realized that apart from the father we can do nothing. He is our inspiration; he helps creativity to flow from our hand. He makes our talent possible for our purpose and uses it to impact lives for the kingdom of heaven. Let God reveal his purpose for you. Be still, strip off the weight of heaviness, and find where your passion lies. What do you love doing? Then you will find peace and purpose in it. A peace that surpasses all understanding, you will have alone with, the unforced rhythms of grace.

When things are done Gods way, with the unforced rhythms of Grace, you peacefully flow alone side with God. You are more fulfilled, you accomplish more gracefully, and you have peace while doing it. The yoke is easy, and the burden becomes so much lighter. You begin to live like God intended freely, and lightly. As it refers to in the message version of scripture Matthew 11:29-30 Jesus says, “Come to me….Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly”. I began to make time for the father again and seek his will and purpose for my life.

I began prioritizing my time and spending more time in mediation with the Father. It’s in the prayer closet where the voice of God is more easily recognized, and answers begin to be revealed. I began to put him first. My days began to gracefully flow with more peace, rest, happiness, and joy. God’s way is so much better than yours or mine. His ways are higher, and he knows what’s best for your life. My accomplishments increased and time was added. I began pouring more of my time into what I love which is writing. God began revealing more of his plan and purpose for my life. I began to see the God vision that was intended for my life. Step out in Faith toward your God vision, and he will reveal each step of the way. Stand on the scripture as in Psalm 37:5 “Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”

Begin to rest by walking with the Father, and he will lead you to live in the unforced rhythms of Grace. Living freely, and lightly!

Opportunity Of Time and Chance

Do not be confused or tossed to and from like the wave of the sea. Just as
the surfer who goes out to look for a wave to catch. There is only a certain period
for that wave then it is soon come and gone. Scripture says in Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. There are windows of opportunity; Opportunity of time and chance is all around us which one will you take? I believe you must be insightful as to where the holy spirit is taking you in order to fulfill.
your purpose that God has for you. Hinse the opportunity of time and chance.

Will the choice you make drive you closer to God and cultivate the plan and
purpose he has for your life. Or will it drive you further away from His plan?
Distancing you from God and consuming most of your time. If that opportunity
consumes all your time; Where does that leave time for Jesus during your day?
“Apart from the vine we can do nothing” as it states in John 15:5. Will you do
what is ordinary and what you think people expect you to do? Or will you trust
the guidance of the holy spirit, take a leap of Faith, and go toward Gods
opportunity he has for you.

As it states in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NLT “For everything there is a season, a
time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A
time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time
to tear down and a time to build up. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time
to grieve and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather
stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time
to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear and
a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak. A time to love and a
time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace.”

Know when to dance, and when to stop searching. Let the voice of the Lord
direct your steps. Don’t take too long to decide for with every window there
is a frame and a season for a short period of time. Your opportunity could be
shorter than you think so seize and embrace what God has for you in this
season.

Has the Lord spoken, and directed your path? Don’t doubt the small still
voice but follow the path of peace He has for your life. If you have peace stay
on that road. It won’t make sense to the natural mind, but trust God’s
opportunity he knows best. As it states in Matthew 7:11 “If you then, who
are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your
Father, who is in heaven, give good things to those who ask him!” God’s plan for
your future is brighter than the one you have imagined or planned.

Don’t let the enemy push you
toward dead-end opportunities offered by this world. The world’s ways are not
God’s ways, His ways are higher, than we can comprehend. The opportunities of
the world may be lavish, exquisite, large salaries, fine wines, and dinners but
with them strings are attached. They may require you to work more on Sundays or
work your network on a 24/7 bases. You will have pressures, deadlines, business
meetings, and all your time will be consumed with nothing but work. Do not let
the bait for more money or wealth divide and still your time with precious
loved ones. Whereas with God’s plan you will be led by a spirit that ensues
your direction with peace, and you will find a fullness and a yarning desire to
pursue that purpose to the finish.

You will have more than enough time if God is first in your day, and all
other things such as your time with God, reading, worshiping, family and work;
will fall into place. You will know that you have found your purpose, when you
are ignited like a fire with a yarning desire, to fulfill that passion. Your
heart is full, it brings joy to your soul, and you have peace like no other.

Just as it says in Matthew 6:33 NCV “Seek first God’s kingdom and what God
wants. Then all your other needs will be met as well. Trust the process, take
the road less followed, and fulfill your purpose. What is the purpose God is
calling you to today?
